Alcina: a vintage opera

Rusulka: a fable in song and dance

Camille's Rainbow: an opera for babies

Help Milwaukee Opera Theatre reach our budgeted goal for individual contributions for our 2024 - 2025 Season! Your donation supports this season's three productions, three educational programs, and commissions.  With your help, we'll keep Milwaukee singing!

Season Details

We’re kicking off our year with a site-specific Alcina, developed collaboratively with Early

Music Now. This abbreviated production will take place at Dandy, Milwaukee’s only vintage

store/event venue, and will drench audiences in retro-baroque-fabulousness.

In February, we’ll reunite with our pals at Danceworks to remount Rusalka! When we

debuted this adaptation in 2023, the run sold out before we opened. This time, we’ve got

two weekends planned, and the mermaids, moon, and drunk party guests are ready to revisit

their work.

In May, we’ll venture into entirely uncharted territory with Camille’s Rainbow, an opera for

babies. Yes, babies. Camille’s Rainbow is a 35-minute piece for 4 singers and harp that takes

families on a journey through the color spectrum. When we learned about this piece for ages

0-3, we were immediately smitten. Commissioned by Carnegie Hall and Minnesota Opera,

we are thrilled to be bringing this work to Milwaukee.

And...

If that’s not enough, we’re also laying track for a new Gilbert and Sullivan adaptation.

MOT has devised memorable productions of The Mikado, Iolanthe, and Ruddigore (and had

great fun doing them!). What’s next? We’re not sure. But we’re working on it. And yes, we’re

taking suggestions.

In addition to the above, we’ll continue investing in our artistic community through three

educational programs: Voice Lab, Script & Score and The Supreme Creativity Studio.

Please consider a gift to Milwaukee Opera Theatre. We promise to invest it with care in the

marvelous artists who call Milwaukee home.
